Radisson Hotel Group Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer Eli Younes said his company wants to double its operations in Saudi over the next five years. Currently they have 50 hotels in Saudi Arabia; Out of these 25 hotels are already operational and 25 hotels are under construction. There are plans to double this number in the next five years. In other words, their number of hotels will reach 100 in the next five years.

In an interview given on the sidelines of the Future Hospitality Summit in Riyadh last Monday, Younes also said that Radisson Group wants to be a part of the hospitality sector in the type of expansion currently taking place in Saudi Arabia. As a result, he expressed hope that there will be large employment opportunities.

As an example, he said, if each hotel has an average of 200 rooms, it will require at least 150 workers. Thus a large number of employment opportunities will be created for one hundred hotels.

Eli Younes said that the Radisson group will not only open hotels in the main cities of Saudi Arabia, but also establish branches in important cities far away. In this case, if all the hotels are not of luxury quality, some hotels will be of medium quality, he also mentioned.

Younes said about the global plan, currently there are 1,500 hotels of the Radisson group worldwide. They plan to increase the number of hotels to three thousand in the next five to seven years.
